The State Agency on Intellectual Property (AGEPI) participated on 11 May this year alongside of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, as well as other public authorities of the Republic of Moldova in the celebration of Europe Day 2019, within the framework of the European Village. The event was organized by the European Union Delegation to the Republic of Moldova and took place in the Public Garden “Stefan cel Mare si Sfant”. AGEPI was present at the event with information and consultations in the field of intellectual property, as well as instructive-educational products for children and adults.
Within the European Village, residents and guests of the capital could visit tents with presentations of EU-funded projects where they learned about EU assistance to the development of the Republic of Moldova. The event also gave visitors the opportunity to enjoy European culture and cuisine and not only through the presence of the Embassies of the EU Member States and partner countries.
Europe Day is marked annually by the European Community and partner countries on 9 May. The feast was set up in memory of French Foreign Minister Robert Schuman. At a speech in Paris in 1950, Robert Schuman proposed to establish a new form of political cooperation in Europe, which would forever remove the possibility of a new war between Europe’s nations. This day is considered the date of initiation of European integration.
We should mention that on 18 May the “European Village 2019” will go to Cahul, where several cultural events are also scheduled and where AGEPI together with other partners from the Republic of Moldova and the European Union will disseminate information about the European integration process and other useful and interesting topics.
