On March 27, 2014, it was held the seventeenth session of the Assembly of the Academy of Sciences of Moldova (ASM), which was attended by representatives of the Government of the Republic of Moldova, Assembly members, rectors of universities, directors of research institutions, etc.
During the session, the high academic forum heard the report of the Acad. Ion Tighineanu, interim president of the ASM, entitled “Science for the Prosperity of the Country on the European Route”, as well as the report on management and financial-economic activity of the Supreme Council for Science and Technological Development, presented by the corresponding member Ion Guceac, Interim Vice-President of ASM.
Academicians - coordinators of the ASM Sciences Departments presented reports on scientific and organizational activity of the ASM Sciences Departments in 2013.
According to the event Agenda, in the current session of the Assembly took place the winner designation ceremony of the Creation Contest for journalists “Archimedes’ Lever”, organized by ASM in cooperation with the State Agency on Intellectual Property (AGEPI) and the Agency for innovation and Technology Transfer (AITT).
In the framework of the contest were presented 18 awards for the most active journalists who promoted during 2013 through various mass media sources of the country, the most important scientific and innovative achievements of the academic institutions and universities of the country. Thus, 12 awards were presented by ASM, 5 - by AGEPI and one award by AITT.
All winners of the contest received diplomas of participation and one cash prize (worth 2000 lei each). AGEPI awards were presented by Svetlana Munteanu, Deputy Director General of AGEPI to the following journalists:
- Vasile Munteanu, radio reporter “Vocea Basarabiei”;
- Eleonora Culac, reporter of NPBI “Teleradio-Moldova”, radio “Moldova Actualitati” (Russian language);
- Tatiana Fiser, editor-presenter “Academia Radio”;
- Nicolae Roibu, reporter, State News Agency “Moldpres”;
- Larisa Verdes, radio “Moldova”, daily schedule “Matinal National”, Centre for an Informative Society “Flacara Studio”.
