The representatives of the State Agency on Intellectual Property (AGEPI) participated on September 27, 2024, in two major events: “Moldova Tourism Forum” and “Excellence in Tourism Gala 2024”, which promoted the country’s tourism potential. These events were dedicated to the World Tourism Day, celebrated annually globally, and aligned with the initiative of the World Tourism Organization (WTO), with the theme “Tourism and Peace”.
Discussions at the events focused on the role of tourism in promoting peace, international cooperation and cultural exchange. World Tourism Day 2024 highlighted the contribution of sustainable tourism to reconciliation and conflict resolution, highlighting its importance not only as an economic engine, but also as a promoter of social justice and human rights.
“Moldova Tourism Forum 2024” explored how tourism can actively contribute to a peaceful and inclusive future. The tourism industry, dependent on peace, has the unique power to unite people in a conflict-free environment, generating solutions for a more democratic and equitable society. At the same time, topics related to the contribution of rural tourism to the development of sustainable communities in the context of European integration, technological innovations in tourism and the role of this industry in international diplomacy were also addressed.
At the event, AGEPI specialists distributed informative materials about intellectual property, facilitating the understanding of concepts and procedures in the field.
Also on September 27, 2024, the Palace of the Republic in Chisinau also hosted the “Excellence in Tourism Gala 2024”, dedicated to the recognition of the most important achievements in the field of tourism, being a celebration of excellence and innovation. The Gala brought together opinion leaders, professionals, government officials and representatives of public institutions, local communities and tourism businesses to celebrate success and progress in this field.
