06/13/2024

The Deputy Director General of the State Agency on Intellectual Property (AGEPI), Andrei Popa, participated on June 12, this year, in the events organized on the occasion of the Day of Moldova’s Academy of Sciences (ASM): 63 years since its foundation and 77 years since the creation of the first academic-type research institutes.

The festive meeting was attended by the titular members, corresponding members and designated members of the Scientific Sections of the ASM, directors of agencies and research institutes, rectors of universities, scientific researchers, people of culture and also guests of honor from abroad. Within it, the remarkable results achieved in scientific activity were presented, as well as the perspectives and challenges facing the academy today.

In his welcoming speech, the Deputy Director General of AGEPI conveyed to the entire academic body congratulations, wishes for health, prosperity and new achievements.

“ASM represents an institution of great national prestige which, through its prodigious activity, has recorded valuable results, of major importance for the economy of the Republic of Moldova, for the development of our society in general, for the advancement of national science and innovation and their integration in the international research space. Taking care of the protection and promotion of intellectual capital, AGEPI collaborates fruitfully with ASM. Such collaborations represent a fundamental pillar in the development and progress of society, contributing to strengthening the links between academia, research and the private sector. It is remarkable that a good part of the total number of inventions and new technologies protected in the Republic of Moldova belongs to researchers and inventors from our research institutes,” said Andrei Popa from the podium.

The events also included an exhibition of photography, art and researchers’ achievements.

The State Agency on Intellectual Property and the Academy of Sciences of Moldova have a solid and sustainable collaboration, having many successful projects carried out in previous years. By participating in these events, AGEPI emphasized the importance of cooperation between institutions in promoting intellectual property and supporting innovation in the country.
