Traditionally, on the last Saturday of June in our Republic is celebrated the Inventor’s and Rationalizer’s Day. This celebration was established by Presidential Decree no. 193 of 19.06.1995, in order to disseminate, promote and stimulate innovation and rationalization activity.

In order to celebrate this important day, on June 28, at 13.30, inside the National Confederation of Trade Unions was held the festive meeting dedicated to the Inventor’s and Rationalizer’s Day, organized by the Union of Inventors and Rationalizers “Inovatorul” of the Republic of Moldova (UIR).

The festive meeting was attended by representatives of research institutes of the Academy of Sciences and higher education institutions, inventors and rationalizers, patent attorneys, renowned personalities in the field of research and innovation and entrepreneurship, as well as specialists from the State Agency on Intellectual Property (AGEPI).

With a congratulatory message to the inventors and rationalizers of the republic came Nicanor Solcan, President of UIR “Inovatorul”, dr.Svetlana Munteanu, Deputy Director General of AGEPI, acad. Gheorghe Rusnac, Vice President of ASM, Petru Chiriac, Vice President of the National Confederation of Trade Unions and representatives of the Office of UIR “Inovatorul” from Balti and Cahul.

In the speeches have been reviewed the inventors’ and rationalizers’ achievements obtained during the last year. Also, there have been mentioned the problems they face in the implementation of inventions and rationalization proposals and were submitted some recommendations and proposals to improve the situation in the field.

Traditionally, during the solemn meeting were mentioned with diplomas and cash prizes the winners of the Republican Competition for the honorary title “The Most Active Rationalizer of the Year” and “The Best Young Rationalizer of the Year”, organized by the UIR “Inovatorul” in cooperation with AGEPI and National Confederation of Trade Unions.

Another significant event of the solemnity was the presentation of Diploma and Gold Medal of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) “Outstanding Inventor” to Mr. Ion Habasescu, dr. hab., corresponding member of ASM, director of the Institute of Agricultural Machinery “Mecagro”, for prodigious innovation activity in the field of agricultural machinery industry and on the occasion of the Inventor’s and Rationalizer’s Day. The WIPO Diploma and Gold Medal were presented by Svetlana Munteanu, Deputy Director General of AGEPI.

Also, several inventors and rationalizes were mentioned with cash prizes, awarded by UIR “Inventatorul”, AGEPI and ASM for their achievements obtained during the last year.

The guests and the participants in the solemn meeting had the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the new publications in the field of intellectual property protection, which were presented at a book exhibition organized by AGEPI specialists.

The celebration of the Inventor’s and Rationalizer’s Day is a good opportunity to draw the balance-sheet of the technical creation promotion and stimulation activities in the republic. Or, inventions and rationalization proposals are assessed primarily by their economic, social, ecological, informational effect, making our life level more qualitative and our country’s economy more advanced.
