19.10.2017

The Commission for Attestation and Discipline of the candidates for obtaining the qualification of authorized attorney in intellectual property of the State Agency on Intellectual Property (AGEPI) has attested 6 new authorized attorneys.

AGEPI Director General Lilia Bolocan has today handed to authorized attorneys the certificates attesting the obtaining of the new qualification, wishing them success in their work to provide the necessary assistance to applicants in the field of intellectual property protection.

Two of the candidates have acquired the qualification of authorized attorney without taking the exam in the field of intellectual property, in accordance with the provisions of the Regulation on the Activity of Authorized Attorneys in Intellectual Property. The Regulation stipulates that the specialists in intellectual property who have been active as AGEPI employees for at least 3 years and teachers who have taught the discipline on intellectual property protection in higher education institutions for at least 3 years can acquire the qualification of authorized attorney without taking the exam in the field of intellectual property.

Four other candidates took the exam in front of the Commission for Attestation and Discipline of the candidates for obtaining the qualification of authorized attorney in intellectual property.

Thus, the new authorized attorneys were entered in the National Register of Authorized Attorneys in Intellectual Property. At present, 137 authorized attorneys in intellectual property are entered in the Register.

The professional activity of the authorized attorneys consists in the representation of natural and legal persons under the terms provided by the mandate contract or other contract with analogous content and/or by legal power of attorney of representation and in providing the necessary assistance in the field of protection of intellectual property objects (trademarks, inventions, industrial designs, plant varieties, topographies of integrated circuits, appellations of origin, geographical indications, traditional specialties guaranteed).
