The bilateral meeting at the level of Directors General of the State Agency on Intellectual Property of the Republic of Moldova (AGEPI) and the State Office for Inventions and Trademarks of Romania (OSIM) took place in Chisinau in the period 2-3 March, in Chisinau. The main purpose of the meeting was to approve and sign the Joint Program of Cooperation between AGEPI and OSIM for the years 2018-2019 and to strengthen cooperation relations in the field of intellectual property between the two offices.
The State Agency on Intellectual Property (AGEPI) is launching, from 1 March to 26 April 201, a photo contest on “Women Who Inspire”.
The aim of the contest is to highlight the important role that women have in today’s innovation and creativity, as well as to conduct activities dedicated to the World Intellectual Property Day, which is traditionally celebrated on April 26.
Approximately 70 doctoral candidates, students and professors from the State University of Medicine and Pharmacy “Nicolae Testemitanu” participated in a training seminar entitled “The Role of Patenting Inventions and Patent Information in Modern Society”, organized by the State Agency on Intellectual Property (AGEPI), on 27 and 28 February this year. The seminar aimed to familiarize participants with the national system of intellectual property protection.
On February 26, the State Agency on Intellectual Property (AGEPI) organized a training seminar entitled “Intellectual Property in the Development of New Technologies”, for students from the study program “Electronics”, “Applied Electronics” and “Security of Electronic Systems Devices” of the Electronics and Telecommunications Department of the Technical University of Moldova (TUM).
The seminar aimed to familiarize students with the national system of protection and use of intellectual property.
The working visit of Mr. Pascal Phlix, Country Coordinator, International Cooperation Directorate, European Patent Office (EPO), to the State Agency on Intellectual Property (AGEPI) took place on 22 February this year.
The purpose of the visit was to strengthen the cooperation relations between AGEPI and the EPO, to evaluate the implementation of the Co-operation Activities Program between Offices for the past two years, as well as to identify the priority directions of bilateral cooperation for the biennial 2018-2019.
On 20 February this year, the specialists of the State Agency on Intellectual Property (AGEPI) attended a meeting focused on issues of protection and enforcement of intellectual property rights in the field of geographical indications, organized at the headquarters of the Ministry of Economy and Infrastructure (MEI). The meeting was attended by representatives of AGEPI, MEI and SE “Center for Applied Metrology and Certification”.
During the period 19-23 February 2018, the training course “Protection of Intellectual Property in the Republic of Moldova. Practical Aspects” for judges and prosecutors trained in the continuous training process conducted by the National Institute of Justice (NIJ) is held at the State Agency on Intellectual Property (AGEPI).
The training course aims at enhancing the knowledge of representatives of the Republic of Moldova’s justice sector on the enforcement of intellectual property rights in the context of examination of intellectual property disputes.
The sixth edition of the National Science and Engineering Contest for Pupils “Mold SEF” took place in Chisinau, during the period 16-18 February. The contest was organized by the Ministry of Education, Culture and Research by means of the National Agency for Curriculum and Assessment, as well as together with several partners.
The 10th edition of the local stage of the European BEST Engineering Competition EBEC took place in Chisinau, during the period 16 – 17 February 2018. The event was organized by BEST Chisinau, exclusively for students of the Technical University of Moldova (TUM).
The State Agency on Intellectual Property (AGEPI) participated as a partner of the cmpetition.
48 students from UTM, grouped in 12 teams, fought to get the title of the best project in the competition. The teams were divided into two sections: Case Study and Team Design.
During the period 14-16 February 2018, the training course “Protection of Intellectual Property in the Republic of Moldova. Practical Aspects” for legal assistants and court clerks trained in the continuous training process conducted by the National Institute of Justice (NIJ) was held at the State Agency on Intellectual Property (AGEPI).
The purpose of the training course was the professional training of legal assistants and court clerks in the field of intellectual property.
