On April 30, 2015, inside the State Agrarian University of Moldova, was held the second meeting of the Tempus Project Management Council “Technology Transfer Network – TecTNet”, implemented by a consortium composed of 11 partners from the Republic of Moldova and the European Union, which also includes the State Agency on Intellectual Property of the Republic of Moldova.
The meeting was organized by the State Agrarian University of Moldova, with the participation of the representatives of project partners from the Republic of Moldova (SAUM, TUM, SUM, USAR, RTTM, AITT and AGEPI) and from the EU: University of Sannio in Benevento (Italy) Technical University “Gheorghe Asachi” of Iasi (Romania), Technical University of Košice (Slovakia), and Higher Technical Institute (Portugal).
The meeting was opened by SAUM rector, academician Gh. Cimpoies, who as host of the event welcomed participants to the meeting and stressed the importance of the project for the institution he leads, but also for the community as a whole.
During the meeting they discussed various issues related to the project objectives, have been reviewed the achieved results, and also challenges facing the partners in the implementation of project activities.
Special attention was paid to the stage of development of the master program “Management of Innovation and Technology Transfer”, launched on 15 September 2015. Representatives of the four Moldovan universities, which jointly implement the master’s program were presented on various aspects of the educational process, including requirements to preparing master’s theses, conditions of conferring diplomas and supplements thereof, quality of courses and expectations for the master internship program in universities of the EU. It was presented also the current state of implementation of web platform LMS (Learning Management System) designed to facilitate learning and communication within the aforementioned master’s program.
AGEPI representative, Ms. Liliana Vieru, Deputy Director of Promotion and Publishing Department, presented the situation on implementation of the project work package 6 (WP6) targeting the dissemination and promotion of the project, informed project partners about the latest developments and events in the field of intellectual property and encouraged the institutions concerned to intensify the exchange of information and knowledge in areas of interest.
During the meeting were discussed issues related to project management, financial aspects, quality system, tools for communication and exploitation of the project results.
TecTNet Project (Technology Transfer Network), funded under Tempus IV Program, aims primarily at strengthening institutional capacities of universities in the Republic of Moldova in terms of management of technology transfer and intellectual property; providing the functionality of the training-innovation-research knowledge triangle; development of partnerships between universities, public institutions and the private sector.
The project is implemented by a consortium that has as partners EU universities: University of Sannio in Benevento (Italy) - Project Coordinator, Technical University of Iasi (Romania), University of Košice (Slovenia) and Higher Technical University of Lisbon (Portugal).
Moldova is represented in the project by four beneficiary universities: Moldova State University, Technical University of Moldova, State Agricultural University of Moldova, State University “Aleco Russo’; two agencies: State Agency on Intellectual Property (AGEPI), Agency for Innovation and Technology Transfer (AITT), and a non-governmental organization “Technology Transfer Network of Moldova” (MTTN).
The project will run for 36 months (1 December 2013 – 30 November 2016), and at the end of this period the universities of Moldova will dispose of functional units and sufficient knowledge to manage intellectual property and technology transfer in universities.
