On December 13 this year, at the headquarters of the State Agency on Intellectual Property (AGEPI), was held the Fourth Meeting of the Technical Assistance Project “Support to Enforcement of Intellectual Property Rights in the Republic of Moldova”, financed by the European Union. The main purpose of the project is to improve the mode of application of the legislation in the field of intellectual property rights.
The meeting was chaired by Lilia Bolocan, Director General of AGEPI, as the main beneficiary of the project. The event was attended by representatives of the co-beneficiary authorities of the project, namely: of the General Police Inspectorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Customs Service, Prosecutor General’s Office, Consumer Protection Agency, as well as of the European Union Delegation to the Republic of Moldova. The meeting was also attended by the representatives of the Project Implementation Consortium, company Archidata and the team of experts responsible for project implementation, led by Maximilian Foedinger, project leader.
The members of the Steering Committee approved the minutes of the third meeting of the Committee. Subsequently, the experts presented a summary of the activities carried out during the third stage of project implementation (May-November 2017) and the priorities for the next quarter, referring to:
- Elaboration and implementation of a Cultural Remodeling Program in the field of intellectual property;
- Development of a communication platform (information system) in the field of intellectual property between the responsible public authorities;
- Strengthening of the geographical indications protection system.
During the meeting, the organization of the 5th meeting of the Steering Committee was approved in March 2018.
The EuropeAid/137467/DH/SER/MD Project “Support to Enforcement of Intellectual Property Rights” was launched in November 2016 and has a 2-year implementation period.
