The International Exhibition of Inventions “INFOINVENT” Has Designated Its Winners

The International Specialized Exhibition (ISE) “INFOINVENT”, 17th edition, has designated its winners during an awards ceremony, which took place in online format on November 19.

Over 400 inventions, unique innovation projects and creative products from the Republic of Moldova, Romania, China, Vietnam, Australia, Korea and Croatia were virtually exhibited in the framework of the International Specialized Exhibition “INFOINVENT”. The participants’ works were divided into 5 compartments: inventions, plant varieties and industrial design; innovative products and services; innovation and technology transfer projects; creation of youth and creative industries. The exhibits presented were judged and awarded.

During the awards ceremony, the Commission of Experts and the Jury of the exhibition, following the evaluation of the works exhibited at the stands, awarded the following distinctions: gold - 130, silver - 80 and bronze medals - 80. Also, the inventions presented were distinguished with trophies, cups, diplomas and special mentions from the State Agency on Intellectual Property (AGEPI) and national partners, and also with special mentions of the international exhibitions present at the event.

During the awards ceremony, the Director General of AGEPI, Eugeniu Rusu, thanked all the participants in the event and warmly congratulated the laureates of the 17th edition of ISE INFOINVENT. “We are grateful for the work you have done to create unique works. I hope that this event will help you to substantiate the platform of communication with the business environment, so that we, as consumers, can benefit from the advantages of your inventions. We have seen a multitude of surprising exhibits, which we will publicize, as usual, in the official Catalogue of the Exhibition and which we want as many people as possible to know. I want you to never cast doubt on the talent of each of you. I wish you good luck, inspiration and appreciation!,” underlined Eugeniu Rusu.

Svetlana Cojocaru, President of the Jury, Vice-President of the Academy of Sciences, also came with a welcoming speech, who specified that the Republic of Moldova has an important research and innovation potential, which allows the creation of value-added products for the benefit of the whole society and invited participants to come up with as many innovative solutions and new technologies as possible to increase productivity and quality of life.

The most important distinction awarded in the ISE “INFOINVENT” is the Award of the Government of the Republic of Moldova “Outstanding Inventor”. During this edition, the grand prix went to Academician Gheorghe Țîbirna, doctor habilitate of medicine, university professor, oncologist and surgeon, State University of Medicine and Pharmacy (SUMPh) “Nicolae Testemitanu” of the Republic of Moldova, for prodigious research and development activity over 50 years and a consistent portfolio of patents, over 32 in number, in the field of medicine.

Traditionally, during the exhibition are presented the awards of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) for the most active inventors and innovative institutions.

Thus, the WIPO Gold Medal for Inventors was awarded to Professor Gheorghe Anghelici, doctor habilitat in liver surgery, university professor at the State University of Medicine and Pharmacy “Nicolae Testemitanu”, surgeon, inventor in medicine, for significant contribution in his field of activity and for the imposing patent portfolio, over 55 in number, in the field of medicine.

The WIPO Business Intellectual Property Trophy has been awarded to the Institute of Physiology and Sanocreatology, which holds more than 60 patents. The main activity of the Institution is research and development in the field of human physiology. The specialists from the institution developed concepts in the prevention, treatment of COVID-19 and post-COVID-19 rehabilitation, being invented plant compositions, the results of which were authorized by the National Agency for Public Health, manufactured and sold on the market of the Republic of Moldova, these being administered in medium and mild forms of the disease.

During the same large-scale event, the team of inventors consisting of Aurelian Gulea, Vasilii Graur, Irina Usataia, Olga Garbuz, Victor Tapcov, Ion Toderaș from the State University of Moldova, received the AGEPI Grand Prix “Best Invention”, for the invention: New Human RD Rhabdomyosarcoma Cell Line Proliferation Inhibitor.

The Trophy for “Best Invention Created by a Woman Inventor” went to Gabriela Motelica, for the invention in the field of medicine “Device for Excision of Soft Tissues in Pericoronitis”, SUMPh “N. Testimitanu”.

AGEPI also awarded the Trophy for “Best Invention Created by a Young Inventor” to Colta Artur, for an invention in the field of medicine, namely “Method for Treating Chronic Calculous Abacterial Prostatitis Complicated by Infravesical Obstruction”, SUMPh “N. Testemitanu”.

The AGEPI Trophy “Most Successful Industrial Design”, at national level, went to the Technical University of Moldova for the work “Aesthetic and Constructive Solution of Book Editions with Group Games for Children Aged 7-11 Years”, authors - Magdalena Zaharia and Viorica Cazac. The AGEPI Trophy “Most Successful Industrial Design” for foreigners was awarded to the China Association of Inventors, Suzhou Zigang Jewelry Co., Ltd. for an Eleven Rose Shaped Light and Shadow Odd-Numbered Double Fire Diamond Cutting Plan.

Also, AGEPI offered the Trophy “Most Successful Plant Variety” to the Phytotechnical Institute “Porumbeni” for Corn Hybrid, Porumbeni 305, authors - Simion Musteata, Pantelimon Borozan, Pintilie Pirvan, Ghenadie Rusu, Vasile Maticiuc, Silvia Mistret, Serghei Bruma, Gheorghe Lebediuc, Eugen Rotari. The Trophy “Most Successful Plant Variety” for foreign owners was awarded to Mr. Gheorghe Iuroaea, Romania for a new rose variety “Cristinica”.

The Trophy for “Most Representative Participation in the Exhibition” was awarded to the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca, Romania and the China Association of Inventors.

The Trophy “Most Ingenious Innovative Pupil” went to Adelina Bivol, pupil at the Theoretical Lyceum “Universe”, for the work “Student science DUAL-COAT”.

The Trophy “Best Creation of Youth” went to the Technical University of Moldova, for the work “Electromobile for Persons with Disabilities”, authors: Mircea Zubcu and Valeriu Podborschi.

The Trophy “Most Skilled Craftsman” went to the Technological College in Chisinau, for Eco Bag with Adjustable Size.

During the awards ceremony, the Polytechnic University of Timisoara won the Trophy for “Best Research and Technology Transfer Project”.

The Trophy for “Best Research Project Created by Young People” was awarded to the Institute of Applied Physics in Chisinau and Manuel Roxas Senior High School in the Philippines.

The mention “Successful Innovative Product” for national participants was offered to the Institute of Electronic Engineering and Nanotechnologies “D. Ghitu”, and for the foreign participants to the company A better life solutions SRL, Romania.

The company SRL PRINTLAB from the Republic of Moldova received the mention of “Most Innovative Enterprise in the SME Sector”.

The International Specialized Exhibition “INFOINVENT”, which takes place in online format from 17 to 20 November 2021, is organized by the State Agency on Intellectual Property, in partnership with the Ministry of Education and Research, the Ministry of Culture, the National Agency for Research and Development and the National Agency for Quality Assurance in Education and Research. An additional program of events was also held in virtual format during the exhibition, such as the International Innovation Conference entitled “Artificial Intelligence, Innovation and Intellectual Property”, the Workshop entitled “Development of Innovation Business and Protection of Intellectual Property in the Digital Era” and the Webinar entitled “Plagiarism and Copyright”.

The purpose of the event is to support research and innovation activity, attract investment in innovation and technology transfer activity, promote joint projects on using and implementing the results of human creativity in the national economy, and developing international scientific-technical cooperation.
