Gheorghe Anghelici Was Awarded the WIPO Gold Medal for Inventors


Gheorghe Anghelici, doctor habilitat in medicine, university professor at the State University of Medicine and Pharmacy “Nicolae Testemitanu”, surgeon, obtained the WIPO Gold Medal for Inventors. This distinction was awarded to him for his prodigious research activity in the field of medicine, crowned with an imposing patent portfolio, over 55 in number. Professor Anghelici has developed and applied in practice innovative methods of treatment and prophylaxis of liver diseases, thanks to which the lives of thousands of patients have been saved.

The medal was awarded to the distinguished Moldovan surgeon by Eugeniu Rusu, Director General of the State Agency on Intellectual Property (AGEPI).

The winner of the WIPO Gold Medal for Inventors was designated by the Jury of the International Specialized Exhibition “INFOINVENT”, during the exhibition that took place, in online format, from 17 to 20 November 2021.

Over 400 inventions, unique innovation projects and creative products from the Republic of Moldova, Romania, China, Vietnam, Australia, Korea and Croatia were virtually exhibited during the event.

During the awards ceremony, the Commission of Experts and the Jury of the exhibition, following the evaluation of the works exhibited at the stands, awarded the following distinctions: gold - 130, silver - 80 and bronze medals - 80. Also, the inventions presented were rewarded with trophies, cups, diplomas and special mentions from AGEPI and national and international partners.

The International Specialized Exhibition “INFOINVENT” was organized by AGEPI, in partnership with the Ministry of Education and Research, the Ministry of Culture, the National Agency for Research and Development and the National Agency for Quality Assurance in Education and Research.
