On 8 September this year, there are 23 years since the creation of the State Agency on Intellectual Property of the Republic of Moldova. On this occasion, in the premises of AGEPI was held a festive meeting dedicated to the anniversary of AGEPI. The meeting was attended by the administration and staff of the institution. The event was chaired by Mr. Ion Tiganas, Deputy General Director of AGEPI. In opening, he read the message of congratulation and encouragement of the Director General of AGEPI, Lilia Bolocan. Also, Ion Tiganas made a review of the Agency’s achievements during the 23 years of activity, focusing especially on the achievements of the last year. With a congratulatory message also came Mrs. Svetlana Munteanu, Deputy Director General of AGEPI, who mentioned the upward path of this public institution which aims to provide protection for intellectual property objects and is on the watch of the most precious asset which is the result of creation of the human genius.
AGEPI also received congratulations from the Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food Industry, Mr. Nicolae Olaru, Director General of the Agency for Innovation and Technology Transfer, Mr. Roman Chirca and Vice President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Mr. Tudor Olaru, present at the festive meeting.
Invitees mentioned the role of intellectual property in the development of a modern knowledge-based society. They stated that the 23rd anniversary of the AGEPI is a good occasion to evoke the Agency's contribution to the creation, development and affirmation in the Republic of Moldova of a system of intellectual property protection comparable to similar systems of countries with considerable traditions in the field.
The anniversary continued with the presentation of diplomas to employees who have reached 10, 15 and 20 years of activity in the AGEPI.
At present, AGEPI is the only national authority subordinated to the Government which grants legal protection in the Republic of Moldova for intellectual property objects and promotes the state policy in the field of intellectual property, develops and ensures the policies established under the Activity Program of the Government, Action Plan of the Government and national strategies in its field of competence.
In accordance with its mission, AGEPI will continue to promote policies in the field if intellectual property and improve the system of protection of intellectual property objects that will encourage technological progress, stimulate creativity and contribute to the economic, social and cultural development of the Republic of Moldova.
