Approximately 20 representatives of Moldovan light industry companies participated in a seminar on intellectual property organized by the State Agency on Intellectual Property (AGEPI), at the first entrepreneurship camp for fashion startups “Design Your Smart Business”. The event took place at the Center of Excellence and Acceleration in Design and Technologies “ZIP House”.

Andrei Moisei, coordinator specialist, AGEPI Training Division, spoke to participants about the legal protection of intellectual property objects, especially with reference to light industry. The AGEPI specialist also familiarized the participants in the seminar with the conditions for registration of industrial design, trademarks and other intellectual property objects by national and international route, as well as the role of industrial design in promoting business.

Special emphasis has been placed on the risks that designers may face in the event of non-registration of trademarks, industrial designs and other intellectual property objects, and the ways to ensure the enforcement of rights in these objects.

At the first entrepreneurship camp for fashion startups “Design Your Smart Business”, which took place during the period 27-28 May, the participants benefited from an intensive training program, where they learned from experienced speakers how to develop their own business, the principles of managing a fashion business, and learned about manpower management, financial and fiscal planning, etc.
