Delegation of the State Intellectual Property Office of the People’s Republic of China on a Visit to AGEPI

On 28-30 September this year, at the invitation of the State Agency on Intellectual Property (AGEPI), a delegation of the State Intellectual Property Office of the People’s Republic of China (SIPO) is on a visit to Chisinau.

The Chinese delegation, including Dr. Li YUGUANG, Deputy Chairman of SIPO, Ms. Sheng LI, Deputy Director of International Cooperation Department, Mr. Wang JIANJIAN, Administrator, International Cooperation Department, and Mr. Wei BAOZHI, Director General, Centre for Assistance in Examination of Patent Applications under the aegis of the Chinese Patent Office, arrived in Chisinau in order to familiarize itself with the national system of protection and enforcement of intellectual property rights, as well as the activities carried out by AGEPI in strengthening and promoting the IP system.

The bilateral meeting of the SIPO delegation with the AGEPI management took place during the visit, in which the parties have exchanged experience on the activities of the two offices, aimed at ensuring a high level of quality of services provided to applicants of the titles of protection of intellectual property objects; the role of IP Office in disseminating knowledge and information to society on the need to respect IP rights and the negative impact of counterfeiting and piracy on economic and cultural development and public health; international cooperation and assistance projects carried out in the offices, etc.

During the meeting were also identified the priority directions of cooperation between the two offices both internationally and bilaterally.

It should be noted that the bilateral meeting was attended by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People’s Republic of China in the Republic of Moldova, H.E. Mr. Tong MINGTAO.

On 29-30 September, in accordance with the program of the visit, the SIPO delegation will visit the Archaeological and Historic Complex “Old Orhei” of Trebujeni and Soroca Fortress.
