On 8June this year, at the State Agency on Intellectual Property (AGEPI) took place the visit of the delegation of the Romanian Copyright Office (ORDA) and the bilateral meeting at AGEPI and ORDA leadership level.
The working visit took place in the context of the participation of the ORDA delegation in the Regional Seminar entitled “Enforcement of Intellectual Property Rights”, which was held in Chisinau during the period 6-7 June.
AGEPI Director General Lilia Bolocan thanked colleagues from Romania for cooperation and accepting the invitation to participate in the Regional Seminar.
In turn, ORDA Director General Doru Adrian Paunescu stressed the importance of such events for the exchange of experience and taking over of best practices in the field of intellectual property rights protection.
During the meeting were discussed issues related to the field of copyright and related rights, were reviewed the latest developments in the field, the discussions focusing on the activity and management of the collective management organizations. The two delegations held an exchange of views on the mechanisms for collecting and distributing authors’ remunerations, the relationships between CMOs and users of copyright and related rights, settlement of disputes in the field, etc.
Also, the priority directions of the cooperation between AGEPI and ORDA in the field of development and consolidation of the field of copyright and related rights were identified.
