The Delegation of the Republic of Moldova presented the Country Statement at the WIPO General Assembly

The Delegation of the Republic of Moldova, which participates in the58th Series of Meetings of the Assemblies of the Member States of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), presented the country statement according to the agenda of the meeting. The declaration of the Republic of Moldova at the WIPO General Assembly was presented by the head of the delegation, the Director General of the State Agency on Intellectual Property (AGEPI), Lilia Bolocan, on the second day of the meeting.

Thus, the delegation of the Republic of Moldova aligned itself with the declaration of the Regional Group of Central European and Baltic States, of which it is a part, positively appreciating the activity carried out by the WIPO Secretariat and the Member States in ensuring the political and financial stability of the Organization and encouraging measures aimed at further improving institutional governance and registration systems administered by WIPO, etc. In the country statement, Lilia Bolocan, AGEPI Director General, mentioned the efforts made by the Government of Chisinau to build a legal and institutional framework conducive to economic development and investment, based on an effective intellectual property protection system.

The 58th Series of Meetings of the Assemblies of the Member States of the World Intellectual Property Organization is held from 24 September to 2 October in Geneva, Switzerland. About 1,000 delegates from 191 WIPO member states, including directors of intellectual property offices, ambassadors, ministers, leaders of intergovernmental international organizations, etc., attend the current edition to approve the strategic development directions of the Organization for the next biennial.

In the context of the 58th Series of Meetings of the Assemblies of WIPO, AGEPI participates with an exhibition stand “MOLDOVA - designing lifestyle” - The Role of Design in Increasing the Quality of Life in the Republic of Moldova. On the stand are exhibited some of the best achievements of the domestic creators in the field of product design and industrial design, fashion design, plastic arts, furniture, graphics, architecture, interior design, etc., which excels through originality, creativity and by fitting thereof into international trends. The official opening of the exhibition will take place on Wednesday, September 26.
