From Creation to Competitive Products with Industrial Design

On January 29, 2015, the State Agency on Intellectual Property of the Republic of Moldova held in the conference hall of the Central Pavilion of IEC “Moldexpo”, the workshop: Industrial Design – from Creation to Competitive Products.

The seminar was organized in the framework of the Additional Program of the National Exhibition “Made in Moldova”, aimed at informing the economic agents and not only, about the protection and exploitation of industrial design as intellectual property object.

In opening, the Director General of AGEPI, Mrs. Lilia Bolocan, mentioned the advantages offered by industrial design in creating and developing a business, long-term objectives in relation to that intellectual property object. In this regard, AGEPI encourages maintaining a communication platform in the IP field, especially for industrial design, in this seminar.

In the framework of the seminar were presented three reports:  Industrial Design – from Creativity to a Successful Business; Information on Industrial Design for Business Development; Protection of Industrial Design on Export MarketsThus, representatives of enterprises and institutions participating in the Exhibition “Made in Moldova”, and other persons interested in the field (designers, inventors, students, economic agents) benefited from a wide range of information about what is industrial design; which is the need of and how it can be used in business or daily activities; how to register a design, especially on the new online portal implemented by AGEPI; ways to protect and expand industrial design on international markets.

The 50 people attending the seminar expressed interest in the seminar theme by the set of questions addressed to AGEPI specialists as well as sharing their own experience in the field.

Furthermore, consultations for all intellectual property objects may be requested throughout the exhibition January 28 - February 1, by the AGEPI stand located in the Central Pavilion of IEC “Moldexpo” JSC, where brochures, flyers and other informational materials are available.
