Contest for Young People in the Field of Intellectual Property

The State Agency on Intellectual Property (AGEPI), in partnership with the Ministry of Education of Culture and Research of the Republic of Moldova, the State Office for Inventions and Trademarks of Romania (OSIM) and the Romanian Office for Copyright (ORDA), announces the organization of the Contest for Young People in the Field of Intellectual Property, second edition.

Young people from the Republic of Moldova and Romania, who study in the general education, 9th-12th grade, vocational, secondary and post-secondary vocational education institutions, can participate in the contest.

The aim of the contest is to promote the intellectual property system, to raise awareness among young people of counterfeiting and piracy phenomena, to develop skills and competitive spirit, to create an environment of communication between young people interested in the field of intellectual property and to encourage the exchange of opinions and experience.

The contest takes place in three stages, as follows:

  • Stage I: April 26 - June 30, 2018;
  • Stage II: 1 July - 31 July 2018;
  • Stage III (final): August 6 - September 1, 2018.

During the first stage of the Contest, all participants will be admitted, who will register online at http://db.agepi.md/contest/Account/Register, by June 30. The link will be available starting with April 26.

In the second stage, the participants will answer a number of questions in the field of intellectual property. The list of questions will be available at http://db.agepi.md/contest/, only for those who have been admitted after the first stage of the Contest.

The participants who will pass the final stage of the Contest will prepare a communication in the field of intellectual property. Subsequently, communications will be uploaded to the application http://db.agepi.md/contest/, until the deadline set by the organizers in the application. The finalists will develop the communication in a more interactive way (examples: Power Point presentation, piece, interview, movie, study, drawing, etc.), the maximum duration being 30 min. The papers presented by students will be evaluated by the representatives of the partners, members of the Organizing Committee.

All participants of the third stage of the Contest will receive participation diplomas and promotional materials from AGEPI and partners. At the same time, they will benefit, depending on the country of origin (Romania, Republic of Moldova), from mutual visits to the intellectual property offices (AGEPI, OSIM, ORDA).

The winners of the Contest will benefit from the following awards:

  • First prize – the mentioning diploma and 5000 lei;
  • Second prize – the mentioning diploma and 3000 lei;
  • Third prize – the mentioning diploma and 2000 lei.

Awards and diplomas will be handed over by the Organizing Committee during an awarding ceremony.
