AGEPI, partner of the Student Economic Contest “Student today, Entrepreneur tomorrow”

On April 27, this year, the 9th edition of the Student Economic Contest “Student today, Entrepreneur tomorrow” was held at the Academy of Economic Studies of Moldova (AESM). Traditionally organized by the Business and Business Administration Department, the contest offers students the opportunity to develop their entrepreneurial skills and competitive potential, teamwork capacity and to increase creativity in a limited time.

The State Agency on Intellectual Property (AGEPI) participated as partner of the current edition of the contest.

Present at the opening of the event, AGEPI Director General, Octavian Apostol, spoke to participants about the importance and role of intellectual property in encouraging innovation and creativity. Octavian Apostol wished the participants a lot of success, perseverance and courtesy in developing new business ideas in a competitive environment.

In the contest participated 16 teams, formed of 4 - 5 students. For one hour, participants developed business models that would improve people’s lives. Subsequently, the developed projects were presented to the jury.

The teams which business ideas were innovative, original and implementation-oriented and the presentations most convincing and interesting won the contest. Thus, the first place came to the “Tick-Tock” team, which proposed the “Academy of Governesses” application.

The winners received monetary prizes from AGEPI, including a set of books in the economic field.

The economic contest “Student today, Entrepreneur tomorrow” is part of the program of manifestations conducted by AGEPI on the occasion of the World Intellectual Property Day, which is celebrated annually on 26 April.

Also on the occasion of the World Intellectual Property Day, on 28 April, AGEPI participated in the Scientific Symposium of Young Researchers AESM-2017 (fifteenth edition), section “Creativity, Innovation and Protection of Intellectual Property”, organized by AESM. AGEPI specialists spoke to participants about the importance of intellectual property and the role of innovation for a better life.

World Intellectual Property Day is marked since 2000, and April 26 represents the day when the Convention Establishing the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) (1970) entered into force.
