On November 15, Director General of the State Agency on Intellectual Property (AGEPI), Lilia Bolocan had a meeting with the delegation of the European Patent Office (EPO), headed by the EPO Principal Director for European and International Cooperation, François-Régis Hannart.
During the meeting, it was brought up for discussion the stage of bilateral cooperation between AGEPI and EPO, including the implementation of the Biennial Joint Action Program between the Offices for the period 2016-2017. The parties also discussed about the implementation of the European patent validation system in the Republic of Moldova. Also, priority directions for bilateral cooperation between offices for the next biennial were identified.
During discussions, Lilia Bolocan appreciated the support provided by the EPO for the participation of AGEPI experts over the last years in the professional training programs in the field of patent administration and examination organized by the EPO Academy as well as the assistance provided for the conduct of other events within AGEPI.
The meeting culminated with the commitment of AGEPI and OEB to strengthen bilateral cooperation relations with a view to developing the national system of protection of inventions and adjusting to European standards in the field.
The meeting took place in the context of the participation of the EPO delegation in the International Specialized Exhibition “INFOINVENT”, 15th edition, which takes place from 15 to 18 November, at Moldexpo, including at the International Innovation Conference entitled “Intellectual Property - Innovations - Quality of Life”. The events are organized by the State Agency on Intellectual Property, in partnership with the European Patent Office.
